River Rafting is called riding on the torrential river on an inflatable rubber boat called " Raft ".Rafting is an adventure sport best enjoyed with professional & commercial Rafting Guides & Rafting Instructors with tourist rafters in a rubber boat names as Raft, If you also want to enjoy Camping at Rishikesh , Stay in a Riverside Camp situated on sandy beach or Ganges.

Rafting is done generally in imported rafts (Generally Imported from Korea )made of vulcanized rubber bodies reinforced by nylon fabric beneath , Its an exterior of neoprene which makes the raft  tough enough to withstand it battering it gets when it rams across the rocky boulders in the water of river . Rafting is done on rapids formed by river , Rapids are a white patch of foam on a flowing river caused by sudden gradient or by the river breadth getting constricted while flowing through a gorge between rocks or by a sudden increase or decrease in the volume of the water. Rafting rapids are graded from 1 to 6 depending on the ease with which they can be negotiated, with 1 being the most easy.

 Rapids have been given popular names like Golf Course, Three Blind Mice, Daniel's Dip, Sweet Sixteen, Marine Drive, Cross Fire and Roller Coaster, Cash Flow, Good Morning, and the Wall. Generally grade three rapids are populor in tourist Rafters at Rishikesh, Grade 3 Rapids can be enjoyed at Rishikesh while starting Rafting from Marine Drive to Shivpuri. It is a 10 Kms rafting run , Starts with good morning rapid and has many rafting rapids like Cash Flow, Three Blind Mice Etc. People looking for more rafting adventure at Rishikesh should go for 16 Kms rafting run starting from Shivpuri & ending at Rishikesh ( Ram Jhula), This Rafting Run is slight tough and has grade 4 rapids like Roller Coaster & Golf Course and Grade 3 Rapids like Double Trouble etc. Shivpuri - Rishikesh rafting stretch has a small cliff ( Very populor for cliff jump) , Rafters stop their raft on riverside and jump in river from cliff Just like cliff jump another activity is popular while rafting is Body Surfing .

School Groups or families coing to enjoy Rafting at Rishikesh should go for Rafting trip from Bramhapuri to Rishikesh , This 9 kms rafting stretch has Grade two & grade 1 rapids and good for school children.

If you want fight with biggest rafting rapid of Ganges than go for Kaudiyala Rafting  This 40 Kms stretch starts from kaudiyala and ends at Rishikesh , King of Rapids " The Wall " is situated near Byasi ,  Wall Can be enjoyed in short stretch from Kaudiyala to Marine drive too.

Classification : Rapids

Class 1: an easy, slow-moving current , good for first timer ,Example: Cash Flow

Class 2: small waves , good for first timer,Example: Good Morning

Class 3: rapids have medium waves with some technical maneuvers required , Example: Three Blind Mice

Class 4: rapids occur in a faster current, with bigger waves, scouting is sometimes recommended Example: Golf Course

Class 5: rapids have a very fast current, large waves and scouting is necessary ,Example: The Wall

Class 6: rapids are virtually un-runnable, only attempted by professional racing teams, Example: Sucidal
