The Great Himalaya offers unlimited opportunities to experience not
only the natural beauty but also the unique cultures, which
thrive there. Having treks all across the width of the Indian
Himalayas, there is a variety to choose from.
1.
Ripchar Valley Trek : 11 days in Ladakh
A very interesting trek beginning at Lamayuru and walking up the
less traveled Ripchar valley with its small villages, nomadic
settlements and pastures where we see a wide variety of flowers
from end of July to end of August and birds too.
2.
Zanskar
Trek : 18 days in Ladakh
The classic Ladakh trek, which goes right into the heart of the
Zanskar. This trek takes one into the remote villages and some
out of the world landscape.

Goecha
La Trek. : 14 days in Sikkim
For the people of Sikkim, Kanchenjunga is more than just the
third highest peak in the world; it is believed to be the abode
of the state’s patron diety. This trek takes one right up close
to the big mountain, through forests of rhododendrons, orchids,
pine and magnolia. to the higher valleys and the rolling meadows
used for grazing by the gentle yak-herding Lepchas.

Malana Village Trek : 7 days in Himachal
Little ahead of the beautiful Chandra Khanni Pass lies the tiny
village of Malana, an isolated community that has its own
language, customs and laws, governed by a parliament of village
elders called Koram. Beware! It’s not like the other friendly
village. Seek permission before you take pictures and don’t try
touching the temple walls or the villagers as the outsiders are
considered unclean.

Hampta
Pass (4270m) : 8 days in Himachal
A short trek which leads from the lush greens of the Kullu
valley to the barren landscape of the Chandra valley. The trail
goes right up to the base of the high mountains of Deotibba and
Indrasan (both 6000m plus) peaks and crosses over at the Hampta
Pass.

Indrahar Pass : 10 days in Himachal
Starting from McLeodganj (Dharamsala) at about 6000ft in the
Kangra valley and passing over the mighty snowbound Dhauladhar,
the trail ends at Lamu in the Ravi valley. The trail is the
traditional migratory and grazing route of the “Gaddis”, the
colourful, semi-nomadic Hindu shepherds who belong to the Kangra
and Chamba districts. Each spring, they bring their flocks from
the foothills of the Kangra, over the Dhauladhar to the Ravi
valley. From there they go higher across the Pir Panjal to the
main Himalaya, and on to the rich grazing grounds of the Lingti
valley in Spiti.
7.
Parang La :
16 days in Ladakh
This remote trail follows the traditional trade route between
the people of Spiti, Changthang and Tibet. It begins in the high
altitude meadows of Kibber, breeding ground of the famous Spiti
horses and also known to be snow leopard country.
A challenging trek for the enthusiastic walker in one of the
more spectacular areas of Ladakh recently open.
8.
Darcha -Padum (Shingo La) Trek : 18 days in Ladakh
One of the popular treks leading to the Zanskar valley. The trek
takes one through the many Zanskar villages and various
monasteries therein. A slow ascent up to the pass and then a
steep descent to the Tsarap river brings one right into the
heart of the Zanskar. The trail follows the river most of the
way.
9.
Gaumukh Tapovan Trek : 8 days in
Uttaranchal
An area which has been attracting people for centuries.
The trek starts from the 18th century temple of Gangotri and
goes beyond the source of Ganga to the meadow of Tapovan,
favourite spot for sadhus meditating in the Himalayas.
Gaumukh, the snout of the glacier, Tapovan and the mighty peaks
of the Garhwal Himalayas definitely make it a special trek.
10.
Dodital Trek : 6 days in Uttaranchal
A moderate trek which starts from the Bhagirathi valley, goes up
to the lake of Dodital (wrapped in perfect wilderness) to the
alpine meadows and crosses over at Darwa Pass (4150m) to the
Yamuna watershed. Traditionally this trek has been continuously
used by the Gujjars, the nomadic herdsmen who get their buffalos
to the high meadows every summer and occasionally by the
pilgrims / sadhus walking between Gangotri and Yamunotri. We go
right up to the Darwa Top and retrace our steps.

Ruinsara Lake : 8 days in Uttaranchal
trek upto the secluded serene haven surrounded by glittering
peaks, through some thick forests, garhwali villages and the
high alpine meadows.

Markha Valley Trek : 13 days in Ladakh
One of the most popular trek in Ladakh, the proximity to Leh
brings a lot of people in this valley. Beautiful landscape and
good chances to spot some high altitude wildlife.

Kuari
Pass (3690m) : 9 days in Uttaranchal
The pass is probably the best window to view the high Himalayan
peaks. The views are simply breathtaking, facing north the
vision sweeps from the gorges of Trishul in the east to the
peaks of Kedarnath in the west - the Kedarnath, Chaukhamba,
Nilkantha, Kamet, Gauri Parbat, Hathi Parbat, Nandadevi,
Bethartoli, Dunagiri – (all high 6000ers or 7000 m peaks) lined
one after the other in a magnificent arc … Southwards the
foothills stretch wave upon wave on to the dim haze of the
distant plains. Dotted by some remote villages one also gets
good insights into the local life.
14.
Dodital – Hanumanchatti Trek : 7 days in
Uttaranchal
A moderate trek which starts from the Bhagirathi valley, goes up

Chopta Tungnath Trek : 4 days in
Uttaranchal
A short easy trek running parallel to the high Himalayas. Good
views all the way, beautiful camping by the lake at Devariyatal
and some great forests. In the early spring the rhododendron
forest glow red as the flowers bloom. The views from the
Chandrashilla top will stay in one’s memory for really long.
